Atsushio Onsen

An onsen steeped in history, founded 600 years ago by Genno Shinsho of the Jigenji Temple. The "hot salt water" source spring, which emerges from the source at 72 degrees Centigrade and contains high concentrations of salt, is effective ailments such as gynecological diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and neuralgia. The onsen is also known as Kodama no Yu, or the children's spring, and at the entrance to the onsen district you can find a Jizo children's guardian for child raising. It is a popular sightseeing spot in Aizu as a serene enclave of beautiful nature.
